By this we mean that as our service is aimed at serving individuals rather than small groups, our services are not restricted in the same way that other service providers can be. Through providing one-to-one support there can be endless scope in terms of the time of service, the range of activities or longer-term goals such as skills development which can be the focus of each service.

We hold a commitment to manager assessment and initial care delivery to ensure the service is delivered effectively and any issues that may occur initially can be resolved as soon as possible in the best way. All our staff are ‘skill matched’ as part of the selection process prior to introduction to service users. The management ensure that each worker is appropriately supported to develop their skills and overcome the challenges faced.
We ensure that all duties undertaken by staff are measurable and frequently audited so there is clear record of duties, responsibilities and ‘accountability’.All services are reviewed periodically, to ensure the service is diversifying in response to any change of need.
All staff will have undertaken the recruitment process which includes verifying their references, their identity and obtaining satisfactory Disclosure and Barring checks. All staff providing services under instruction and guidance of their line manager and in accordance with the organisations Policies and Procedures will be comprehensively covered in terms of Public and Employer’s Insurance Indemnity. We actively encourage the development and learning opportunities for all staff as it ensures that both support staff and their managers are exposed to ‘current concepts of care’.
It is our aim to have a service that is valued by those of its members, staff, service users, carers and commissioners alike, through having commitment to providing ‘discreet’ support enabling individuals with a learning disability or mental health problems to access and participate in their community and lead fulfilling lives.
We identify that some Domiciliary or Outreach Care Services can be difficult to manage and endeavour to be creative with this, working with professionals to “make it work” for everyone involved as we also understand and acknowledge the importance of these services.
There will be commitment to valuing people as individuals and tailoring services around their individual needs, by providing individual assessments for each person who uses our services and care panning with the customer to ensure their choice is paramount in the service they receive.
Continuous professional development will be used as a support mechanism for staff which facilitates confidential discussions about both the service delivery, it’s recipients and staff issues. We endeavour to carry out the duties of the organisation under the Legislative and Regulatory Framework as set out by Statute and Membership to professional bodies associated with the provision of Domiciliary Care and Supported Living.
Our service will promote the legislative and social values and vision for individuals with a need or learning disability:
Legal and Civil Rights; We will treat people with care needs as individuals with respect for their dignity and challenge issues of direct or indirect discrimination.
Independence; We will deliver services in a way which promotes the individual having skills towards independence and will avoid any dependency type cultures. We endeavour to “up-skill” the people we support where possible by goal setting and planning support to assist people in gaining new skills or improving current skills.
Choice; We will value and actively promote the individuals right to make choices and decisions which impact on their life. The services delivered will be individually agreed and the consultation process with individuals who use the service will be ongoing. Care services will be risk assessed with duty of care and choice balanced to promote independence and inclusion.
Inclusion; Our support staff will provide discreet support, enabling individuals to participate and access their own community and local resources. We will work with people in receipt of services to source activities local to them, of interest and accessible to ensure inclusion and fulfilment of life.
